Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, or ABS, is an amorphous material and is naturally ivory in color. It is made with varying degrees of three components: Acrylonitrile, for chemical resistance and heat stability; Butadiene, for mechanical toughness and impact strength; and Styrene for rigidity.
ABS is a highly versatile material used in many different applications including:
• Appliances, including refrigerator door liners and crisper drawers
• Electronic housings
• Pipe fittings
• Interior and exterior automotive, including instrument panels and trim
• Lego blocks
ABS is known for its processability and is easy to fabricate. The material has high rigidity, high dimensional stability and is desired for its high gloss and surface finish. ABS can be colored to fit your needs.
